Fwd from Ana Ivanovic-Tongue On Behalf Of Public Art Team Bastion Point Walking Entrance Panui/Expressions of Interest for a creative treatment Mission Bay/Tāmaki Drive
The Ōrakei Local Board has identified a key site for a creative treatment that will create a focal point and attractor for the area of Tāmaki Drive adjacent to the walking entrance of Bastion Point in Mission Bay. Auckland Council seeks expressions of interest from artists, designers, historians and others with interest to develop an integrated creative treatment. Project objectives include but are not limited to: • To create work that contributes to the increased visibility, safety and accessibility of the walking entrance to Bastion Point, with both day and night time experiences; • To deliver dynamic visual improvements that complement the immediate vicinity’s rich natural and heritage features • To deliver an innovative expression evocative of the unique character of the area, it's people, history and locale and/or interpretation of the area’s significance to the development of Auckland. The project aims to improve public amenity, as well as support any Auckland Transport, Auckland Council open space and Ngāti Whātua Ōrakei environmental and safety initiatives within the project area and surrounds. http://www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/EN/newseventsculture/Arts/Pages/callforproposals.aspx Deadline for your submissions of interest is Wednesday, 11th March at 5pm.
