I just had a phone call from Carol Robinson who told me that this year they counted a staggering 488 glow worms at Benfield Valley Nature Reserve a few nights ago. What a sight that must have been. This is about 25% more than in previous years. She wondered if other people had found that there was a 'bumper year' in sites that they were familiar with.
