IXPs say they need globally unique space, and they are the experts here.

Could people *not* having experience in running an actual IXP please
refrain from commenting on the technical aspects on "how an IXP should 
be run!"?

Of course you're all free to agree or disagree with the proposal, but
leave the actual IXP operations to those who do this as their daily
job.
