Allow converters to format null values during rendering

This issue was brought by David Brunette.
Currently converters does not get called if the component's value attribute is
null. However, this prevent custom formatting that could be very useful for
users. Furthermore, MyFaces supports that behavior so for consistency, Trinidad
should as well.
