not sure of this is suppsoed to work. What if you try to put a
<tr:panelPage> (or similar container) into the "navigation3" facetand
drop the tree in there?

In both cases it is inserted by Facelets, in the working version from the
page, in the non-working version from the template the page uses.
The icons on the root nodes indicate correctly which one has children and
which one does not (I subclassed ChildPropertyModel to get this), but on
click nothing happens inside navigation3.
