Yes, we have to understand the process of assimilation of Adiwasis into hindu religion. Most of the time adiwasis are recognized as 'backward hindu'in hindu religion. At the other side there are nothing about adiwasi in ancient hindu caste system. (Brahman, kshatriya, vaishya, shudra, ati shudra). It is the macro level hindu facist policy to bring down adivasi into hindu religion for maximise numbers of hindus (8% adivasi population). At other side, hindus are not easily accepting adiwasis as mainstream... they always defined us as 'backward' and then hindu. Actually 'ANIMISM' is religion of our adiwasi I.e. praying/worshipping nature (not any statue). We don't have that option in our day to day life. We can say it will be a mere word but for hindus it is word and tool of suppression and dominance over adivasi. Today our socialization done under influence of hindu religion, because of that we might not seen difference between hindu and adivasi practices.
