Greetings all, Just wanted to announce that I'm reviving the Canadian Linux Users Exchange.
Here's what I'm doing: 1. Review of CLUE documentation, including Website, by-laws, meeting minutes, etc. 2. Inquire whether last known Directors are still interested. 3. Audit of membership - is there any? who is using linux.ca email? etc. 4. Any other ad-hoc tasks I think of and think I can complete in the next week or so. What you can expect: 1. Some kind of formal announcement of CLUE revival in addition to this one. Perhaps an official Press Release, a notice on the website, a posting to multiple LUG mailing lists, etc. (or probably all of the above). 2. A summary of the current state of CLUE. All of the information I can compile in the next week. 3. A list of next steps. Will probably include: the formation of an interim board of directors (pending an official vote); scheduling of a meeting to review bylaws and any other CLUE documentation, such as the mission statement, etc. (to ensure relevance); etc. etc. 4. Increased activity on the mailing lists (probably mostly by me). 5. Updates to the website. It's my hope that we can re-establish a wholly Canadian Linux organization and further the appreciation of Linux everywhere within the country.
