Sorry Mark. When you use the extract button in the program window on the right hand bottom of the monitor window then make sure that before you hit the button you click BOTH the audio AND video track AT THE BEGINNING of the timeline- in other words not only the clip but where it says i.e. video1 and audio1 so that BOTH tracks are getting a darker grey and both are therefore selected. If you have only the video track selected as I had you only extract the video and the audio stays intact which can be very important if you have people talking in the background without having filmed their faces so that you can easily change the video content but leave them speaking.
