Thank you for the prompt answer. Questions: What program did you use to make the
composition? (Seems like it might be easiest in aftereffects). What was the length of
the animation before you imported it to the ulead program?.. and please help me to
understand the flow of this process... correct me if i'm wrong: You use a program to
create an animation that is an .avi (AE, Premiere, or something, lol, AE seems best
suited). Import to ulead, make transparency settings and tell it to loop continously
(I thought the looping was done with html, that explains that). Export this as a GIF,
upload to your server then use as a link as you would a banner for linking.. is that
right? You upload as a GIF?(forgive me if I ask stupid questions, I'm self taught in
all this stuff, and sometimes I am not aware of the most basic precepts).

Thanks again

When my site was up, I used a looping animated .gif as a linking image.

Here's the steps that I used:
Create an animation (.avi, 15fps),
Import the animation into "Ulead Gif Animator"
Select a color for transparency
In the "settings" window, I chose "loop continuously".
I exported the animation as an animated .gif.

That's pretty much it.
