Reini, Wait, don't throw in the towel just yet...
I spent three days last month trouble shooting a DVD burner that went south (on a PC) I've rebuilt my PC's at least once a year since 1995 with how many OS's ? Win 3.1, 95, 98, ME, NT, XP... They ALL suck! It's a shame, and it has affected me greatly over the years that WHEN you want to be creative and have to troubleshoot hardware/software problems... Well... It seems to be draining... If not exhausting! Recently my Cable Modem went south (I think it was a ISP Cable Router Problem though) Cablevision's tech support wanted me to REBUILD MY COMPUTER, until we tried another computer... They wanted me to Rebuilding both of them... I refused! It turns out the Cable Modem went south, and after it was replaced everything was fine. Reini, I am an AMIGA lover, and MAC has been good to many, the grass is NOT GREENER on the other side! One of the REASON'S I was forced to learn windows was to work in the field... Anyone supporting PC's was almost guaranteed employment, due to their constant problems and upgrades. XP SP2 is just awful and another embarrassment to Microsoft.
