Okay, I just got adobe premiere...but here's the thing. I now need to buy a vcr that will let me transfer the video to it, a dv camcorder, or a dvd burner...What is the best way to go for not much money. I'm not making videos to make money so I'm not looking to spend a whole gob. Thx. Marly, if you want to go on the super-cheap, just stop by any decent pawn shop and grab a used DV camcorder that has a working firewire port and a functional tape drive. The camera section can even be non-functioning just as long as the tape drive still works and the firewire port is not broken. You might wind up with something for a hundred dollars or less if the pawn shop owner isn't very knowledgeable about DV camcorders and you might even get lucky enough to walk away with a nice little camcorder to boot...one that works. If you want to transfer your videos to an ANALOG VCR, like a VHS or SuperVHS well that is a different story altogether. Any good analog deck will do but you need a device like the Canopus ADVC-50, 110, 300 or 500 to connect to your PC. Prices and capabilities vary, but the bottom of the line product starts at around 200 dollars or LESS if you look on eBay. You could also use the "pass-through" connection on your DV camcorder in BOTH directions, one way for converting ANALOG to DIGITAL and the other "direction" for converting the DIGITAL output of your computer BACK to ANALOG. It just depends on whether you connect the OUTPUT of your ANALOG deck to the DV camcorder or the INPUT. Again, please make SURE that the DV camcorder you are using HAS this "pass-through" feature but rest assured that 99% of DV camcorders sold in the USA DO have this function as a part of their "VCR" side. This is what I am using: http://www.promax.com/Products/Detail/14061 I managed to snag one brand new for only $750, but I can dub analog to digital via firewire and also use it as a DV source deck and it's all in one BOX. It gets a ton of use and never has a problem. A little more expensive but worth EVERY PENNY. JeffH Ch.S. ---------- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
