You have two methods (well...: I only know two methods...) * If you have a Video input card installed in the computer (like Pinnacle or similar) you can capture the video, playing the tape in VCR and digitalizing it (recording) in the PC, with a capturing software (generally provided with the video card)
*other option is to digitalize the video using a "pass throught" method, using a digital camera between the VCR (playing) and the PC (recording). In this case you must have a IEEE1394 (usually called firewire or I-Link) card installed in the PC (cheaper than the other). In both cases, the best way is to record in the PC in AVI file. The, edit, cut, etc this avi as you like bye Claudio, from Argentina ..( I hope you understand my english...) ----- Original Message ----- From: Jeffery J. I need to get that information off the vcr tape and put it into my computer. Can anyone tell me how to record from a vcr to my computer Thanks Tabbycat ---Same method that we discussed before I believe.....connect the outputs of your VCR to the analog inputs on a digital camcorder and connect the FireWire output of the digital camcorder to your FireWire port on your computer. Turn on the camcorder and place it in VCR mode. Your edit program should "see" the camcorder and when you hit PLAY on the VCR you will be able to digitize THROUGH the camcorder and capture the footage.
