i've used both which is why i said that it's like adding a gaussian blur at 0.7. if you slide the "reduce interlace flicker" to about the same you get the results of the "flicker removal"...however both provide better resolution than the gaussian blur and this is a horrible assumption, but i think it blends/blurs one field into the other. so one field is full resolution and then the other gets a slight blur to blend it with the other. upon a close look that's what it looked like to me...wait, what was the original topic??? :-)
