Ok Sune dropped his camcorder in the ocean and he admitted that in the wide
open.
I think now it's time for everyone else to confess and be honest and open
about the dumbest thing you ever did. Of course it has to be video/editing
related.
Here's my dumbest thing:
3 days after I had purchased my first camcorder (Sony V600, the one with
the awesome colors) I hired a model to make my first porn flick.
As you all know, the stop/start recording switch on most camcorders works
as a toggle.
Somehow I lost the feel with the toggle, and each time I was supposed to
stop the camcorder, I made it start recording, and then when I was finished
giving the model instructions for the next shot, I accidentally made it
stop recording.
You can all guess what the end result looked like. It was 100% "behind the
scene" footage.
Luckily the model was an amateur and quite cheap.
In the next few years this happened again a few times, the problem with the
toggle switch. For me, a camcorder with separate "start recording" and
"stop" buttons would be better. Now I always double check if the camcorder
is recording when recording something really unique and important.
