Hi, I'm new to the group and fairly new to video editing. Premiere
has worked for me so far but now I have a problem:

To begin with I've had problems with Premiere grabbing video from my
DV-Cam. I've tried all of the settings, used the In/Out points, not
used them, etc.. Often I get to many dropped frames to make the
capture unusable.

I have however been able to capture video with Windows Movie Maker,
using the DV-Playback option (i.e. full quality, 178 MBs per
minute). Then if I've needed to do some editing I could import the
AVI-files captured by WMM into Premiere and worked on them there.

About a month ago I did just that, captured a 35 min AVI file with
WMM and imported to Premiere. No problems.

But today I started by capturing 3 seperate DV-tapes, all about 35
minutes, using WMM. The files are around 7.5 - 8.0 GBs each, I'm
able to play them on WMM as well as Windows Media Player.

But when I import them into Premiere Pro 7.0 I only get about 2-3
minutes of each file (the first 2-3 minutes).

Thinking that maybe something was wrong with Premiere I tried to
import the 35 minute file I captured a month ago and that worked like
a charm, I got all 35 minutes.

Does anybody know what the problem could be ?

thanks in advance,

Blossi
