yes... unfortunately it has been an aggravation in PPro 1.5 -- 
otherwise, I really like it.

does this happen on a PC with hyperthreading?  if so, there were 
some "fixes" as renaming the .exe file (but this never worked for me)

I ended rendering to uncompressed AVI and letting Encore DVD do the 
conversion when burning although I must admit it was an undesired 
inconvenience

Adobe has posted an update to the MainConcept encoder 

   http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/330380.html

which amazingly does NOT show in the updates page.  However, I must 
warn you, it did not help my system.
