Bill, is there any chance that the codec of the source video isn't present
on your system, for example, that you captured in Canopus DV AVI and are
working in Microsoft DV AVI now? Probably a long shot but the only thought
I have.

I've had a request to re-edit a project I edited in 6.5. The original
clips are on a drive connected by firewire. The 6.5 project file is
located on a striped drive, and I set the scratch pads to the same
drive. I opened the 6.5 in PP1.5 and it started the conversion of 317
preview files and 17,199 frames.
I was asked where two stills were located and I indicated that
location, after that the conversion did not ask me for any other file
locations. And none of the original clips appear in the Project file.
As the conversion progressed, I received the following "Error
Message":
"An unknown error occurred while saving the project. Select 'Save
As' from the file menu to save the project to a new location."
The transfer seemed complete so I saved the project transfer under
a new name in the same directory.
All tracks on the timeline are locked, as I left it in 6.5. I can see all
the thumbnails of video clips, I can also hear the vo, clip ambient
sounds and music background, but I don't see any video. I left the
programme after saving, and restarted it, but no video. I restarted
the OS and opened 1.5, but I still do not have any pictures in the
monitor window.
I can see the drive light for the source clips is active when the
timeline is being loaded, but no access to video in monitor window. I
unlocked Vid 1 and highlighted it, but still no video.
Any collective wisdom appreciated.... And it's probably something
obvious, and I appreciate your patience.
Cheers,
Bill in Toronto
