Well, I have Camtasia but that does not give me a lot of flexibility 
to do this (it creates AVI that then have to slice and position, etc.).

My suggestion:

1.  make sure you are looking at slides in full size in PPoint
2.  do a simple screen capture, and then save to JPG or GIF
3.  import still images and then you can position as you need in PPro
