Interesting. I applied one last night, 720 x 480 pixels, and it worked just
fine, but I have PPro 1.5. Perhaps they've fixed it since 1.0, if that's
what you are using. I'm curious-- what is it not doing for you? Or what is
it doing incorrect?

Also, you say you're using the transition effect. Does that assume you are
using the one from the Video Transitions folder? Or the Effects folder?
(There's one listed in each, so I just want to be clear we're talking about
the same thing.)

In Premiere Pro, you can change the aspect ratio of your clip by context
(right) clicking in the project window, and I believe going to interpret. (I
don't have it right in front of me.) It might be properties. Either way,
you'll find a menu there that will let you change the aspect ratio from
square to 0.9.

I don't know if changing the PAR will help, but it's worth a shot. -jeff

Thanks Jeff,
You ask: Are you using the gradient wipe video effect, or the gradient wipe
video transition?

I'm trying to use the transition effect.

You wrote: To properly use the video transition, it is best to use a gray
scale image that is 720 x 480 (0.9 pixel aspect), or 720 x 534 square
pixels, assuming you are using NTSC...
I'm using NTSC/DV = 720x480 aspect ratio0.9. The images I'm trying to use
are Gray Scale Images that are 720x480, I don't know if they are 1[SQR] or
0.9[RE TANGLE] aspect?
I'm currently using Photoshop 7 and it doesn't change aspects of images like
CS.

What I've tried: [NG = No Good] Resizing them to 720x540 - NG, 720x536 - NG,
640x480 - NG, 320x240 - NG (all using Photoshop 7)

What I've learned: According to Adobe forums; Premiere Pro 1 'does' have a
problem with the Gradient Wipe Transition, I can find people who wrote about
this 2 years ago.

Why I'd like to use Gradient Wipes: because I have hundreds that I've made,
downloaded or came with software over the years (Blossom has hundreds). If
you used them you would see why they are the 'spice' of straight wipes...

anyway if you hear more, learn more please let me know. Thanks again.
