Subject: Re: [AP] I'm New
i was just wondering if this program was kind of like windows movie
maker
-----LOL!
That's a good one....I have to keep that somewhere in "My Documents".
Is Adobe "like" Windows Movie Maker......ummmm........well....yeah.
It's like Windows Movie Maker on STEROIDS I guess you could say.
It's more the other way around.
WMM is what Adobe Premiere would be if you took out most of the good stuff
and
removed all the plug-ins and flexibility.
But all that said, WMM is still an EXCELLENT basic edit package.
When you've outgrown the effects palette and the user interface and you find
that you need faster response and more creative power, then it's time to
bite the bullet and learn Premiere.
If your machine is a year old or so, and it packs some serious
"horsepower"***, consider going all the way and getting Premiere Pro and get
the entire Adobe Collection......"shoot the works".
You will have enough serious sofware to make your own feature film.
***"horsepower" refers to 1 GB of fast DDR RAM, two separate large scale
7200 RPM SATA hard drives, P4 processor 2.8 Ghz or faster.........stuff in
that range.
You can run Premiere Pro with lots less but ideally you want a very fast
proc, lots of hard drive space, separate drives for video capture, lots of
RAM for smooth applications.
