is it the program that stops only, or the computer itself hangs? if the case is second, i had this problem before. i found that the heat sink was a bit separated from the processor. during rendering the temperature shots up and since the sink was not in contact with it, the system hung. i glued the heat sink properly, and the problem disappeared.
