<<PLEASE, I'm new to this editing thing. How do I import a Windows Media
File into premiere. It says it is not supported. I transferred a video
from a friends DV camera into Windows Movie Maker and now I can't get
it into Premiere. Please help.>>

1)"The Hard Way":

Go back to your friend, buy him a sixer of his favorite brew, and ask to
transfer the
vid again. This time, when you open the capture dialog, tell WMM that you
want to capture
as DV-AVI, NOT Windows Media.
WMM offers TWO entirely different formats to work with, because it is a
Windows product.
Therefore, if you intend for your video to be used ONLY in a computer
environment, you can capture and
edit in WINDOWS MEDIA.
For the rest of us, who want to use TV sets, there is DV-AVI which is the
native digital video format
of the camcorder you are using.

Once you have captured in DV-AVI it should work fine in Premiere.

2) "The Easy Way":

Why dont you just capture IN Premiere to begin with? :-)

You'll learn all this stuff eventually.
