Yes that might be a good solution. I recommend, if you haven't already
considered that, that you use a right angle plug to minimise the strain
on the connector, alway a weak point with a mini-plug. The line-level
output is probably too low to drive the headset properly so you might
need to rig up some kind of amplifier or use a self-powered headset.
