Thanks Frank; Why am I here? A few answer come to mind, but basically to assist my friend.
I don't have Premiere, as I said, but I know WHERE and HOW to ask questions, and then how to explain any answers to him. He is a smart guy, but sometimes, (and for many people), technical answers just don't make any sense. I help if I can. Sometimes I can't. As to his methodology, I've asked him why he does things the way he does. It's because thats the way he was shown how to do it by another Premiere user. If there's a better way it's up to him. I'm sure he'd welcome any suggestions. He'd read the manual but ..... As for filters I'm aware there are lots of 3rd party ones for Premiere, but I'm quiet happy with the number that come with FCP. It all depends on how many you want, need and use. Whats the point of 800 filters/transistions if you only ever use 3? (The exception being that wedding video my friend did where the bride INSISTED on a DIFFERENT transistion at EVERY cut. They liked it, I thought it was amatuer hour). Finally, I know a few Premeiere users and they are always asking me how I did things in Final Cut Pro, how I did this, how I did that ...... its the user of the software, not the software thats important. I'm happy to admit I'm very much over the Premiere vs. FCP thing. It's old and tied. I'm very happy with my setup and no longer enter into such discussions. Use the system you're happiest with and that suits you best. I only mentioned that I didn't have FCP to explain why I couldn't answer that question I was posting. General feedback from everyone who uses PP seems to be that its fine. I'll pass that info along to my friend. Many Thanks to everyone who responded. My friend appreciates it. ____________________________________________________________________________ --- In [email protected], Frank Mixson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I'm not as far along in my business as Linda is, but I've done a documentary, > several music videos, and am currently producing a TV show (which I shoot and edit), and am doing the videography an editing for another TV show.. all on premiere pro. No problems to report.. Your friend might want to work on his methodology... BTW, a bonus over FCP, is that there our way more 3rd party filters for PC based editing systems.. > > Actually, it seems your friend would be better served by being here himself. > Also I might, politely, and from curiousity, ask why are YOU here? You're welcome here, at least by me...
