In the top right corner of your Project bin is a small triangle. Select
the stills you want to put on your timeline in the order you want them,
then click on that triangle and select "Automate to Sequence." In the
window that opens, you can select what order your pictures will go in
the timeline, either sort order or selection order. You can also choose
to add the default audio and/or video transition, and how much overlap
the clips will have between each other.
