Rieni,

It's not their fault, these people grew up within the MAC environment,
they go to art school, communication deparment at their colleges,
graduation with communication type of degree, they are exposed to MACs
and FCPs, so, it's not them who are stupid, but the smart marketing that
APPLE did with it. (not to mention, it's easier to promote a
hardware/software bundle when you are the sole product manufacturer)

Now, it's also not their fault that celebrity filmmakers are using FCP
in major Hollywood films, which influences their perception, pick up a
film magazine, you would once in a while see a filmmaker, known one,
promoting FCP...

I can't ask Adobe to do more promotion, because that's not what it would
help downplay the buzz/hype of FCP, but it's the users, like us, who
need to constantly promoting Premiere to it's greatest, as it's the GOD
of all Editing software (ok, we know it's the editor) :)

In fact, my fear is simple: if every new generation of kids coming out
being influenced by Mac and FCP, that means those who also uses Premiere
eventually will switch over to Mac as well (some does already, many are
selling their cheap PC to start thinking of Mac), the sale or uses for
Premiere will slowly diminished, which eventually, Premiere will become
what Adobe does with Pagemaker, slowly losing interest (not enough sell
to continue supporting it), and eventually, Premiere Pro will cease to
exist...

Adobe is in the business to sell their software, so they really don't
care the platform the user is working on (Photoshop, Acrobat, InDesign,
After Effects, etc are all for both machines) and they are continuing
selling/promoting what would mostly bring the mass increase of profit
(Macromedia, etc)... Now, if all the new kids who slowly getting out of
school first getting a pirated copy of Premiere then eventually switch
over to Mac (which is already something going on now), Adobe will
eventually notice there isn't enough justification to spend that many
man hours to innovate, to support, to promote Premiere, it will slowly
ignore it...)

And it's up to us, the users of all kind, promoting Premiere, stick with
Premiere, be proud of Premiere that can make Premiere live long and
prosper...

:)

wants FCP?

It's the person behind the computer that edits the movie, not the
computer
nor the software.

People who don't want to work with you because you don't use FCP, are
like
kids that only want to go to school wearing Nikes. Kids like that don't
need Nikes, they need to get their butts kicked.
