Sata is junk? :) I thought SATA is close to SCSI in sense it's like RAID
setup... And the hard drives are like 72000 rpm or 10,000 rpm

Obviously it's good for MiniDV and some HDV (depending on your
computer's speed/ram, etc) editing.
For HD however, you'll need to go with SCSI drive (from what I've read
so far).

Subject: [AP] Hey group, OT but just a question

Hey guys,

Love all the blurbs in here and learn a lot from you guys. I was in a
conversation this week about computer systems. I have an Alienware
system custom built for editing using Matrox RT X.100 and 2 SATA
drives. His response was animated and loud, saying that SATA is junk
and you should only be using SCSI drives for video. Is this true? Or
does it not matter for editing, but makes a real difference in showing
video on a computer? Just wondering.

Tom
