CPU: P4 3.0 (or Athlon equivolent) or highter. Unless you're doing Hi-def
HD.
RAM: 1GB or higher
HDD: 2 drives. 1 dedicated for storage, 7200rpm or higher.
Onboard IEEE-1394

Those are the main considerations. Video doesn't care about too much display
power, so no need to break the bank on a top of the line graphics
accelerator.

Also, the fewer apps you install on it the better.

Subject: [AP] Building a system ?

I use Premiere Pro at a local tv station here in Chapel Hill. I would like
to have my own pc at home. Can you guys give me some info on how much I
should spend & what specs I need ? Currently i'm looking at a Dell 5100 with
dual harddrives & 1gig of ram for 900. I don't know if this is good for
running premeire or not.
