Hi Ivars,
USB 1 is way too slow for video, either move the drive into the case onto a
spare IDE connection or use an external firewire drive - you can try USB 2
and theoretically it should work but most editors use firewire for their
external drives.
It is not a good idea to use the C: drive but I have done so on occassion
when I had no other option and it seemed to work just fine.
