I'd be interested in why you make that suggestion, Tom. I'm reasonably sure 
that the majority of work done in Premiere and other NLE's is intended for 
TV viewing, whether from tape or DVD, and TV sets display interlaced material.

Working with DV AVI files you want to edit them as is. When you choose an 
export format you may wish to deinterlace, as for the web or CD, but doing 
it prior to the edit is a curious suggestion to my mind.

don't know how to do it in 6.0, but it is very simple in Pro 1.0 and 
up.  Look it up in your help files, then apply it and you should be fine.
