There are cameras that have USB interfaces instead of IEEE-1394.
Unfortunately, Premiere Pro is not equipped to connect to USB cameras. In
fact, the video from USB interfaces is usually not in the DV spec, and is
usually stored as an .mpeg file, which is a whole 'nuther can o' worms.

When you connect to the USB port on your computer, the camera should show up
as a removable hard drive. You should be able to access its contents via the
My Computer icon on your desktop.

Usually video camera have a Firewire for video
transfert.  The USB cable is usually only to transfert
stills (pictures), not the video file itself.  But I
