Sune,
As far as I know this should work. If you play an NTSC tape on any camera
the signal which comes out of the Firewire socket should be NTSC and it
should be possible to capture it on your Premiere system if it is set to
NTSC.
You could check that a signal is coming out of your Firewire socket by
connecting it to another camera and checking that it is being received
(displayed by the other camera).
I suspect that you might need to check that your 'NTSC settings' are correct
by comparing them with the settings used by an NTSC member of this list.

Presumably you will work on NTSC throughout and produce an NTSC DVD for this
job?

Subject: Editing NTSC video!

Hi group!
Sorry for the kind of unclear subject line but I didn't know what to write..

A customer has given me some miniDV tapes that he would like me to transfer
to DVD. The tapes are all NTSC (I don't think the customer was actually
aware of this) so I am having difficulties capturing them into Premiere.
I've selected the NTSC project settings at the start of program launch, but
I cannot see anything in my capture video.
I'm using a Sony handicam and the video plays back well on the camera
itself..

Can the reason be that I have a PAL camera and allthough it supports
playback of NTSC it doesn't allow transfer over firewire?

Please help!
