I've had both Matrox (Digisuite) and Canopus (Can-o-puss) DV-Storm 2. Both were just so painful to work with.
I finally just went to with Pro and the built in 1394 interface. It works great in SD and HD with very few problems. You can playback live on the 1394 interface to an NTSC monitor. It is just as responsive and usable as the expensive plug-in card sets from Matrox or Canopus. And you only have to install Adobe to get it working. With the board sets, you had to install drivers, reboot, install something else, reboot, finally install Adobe, and then do it again because it failed the first 4 times.
