I'd say it depends on the length of the project. If you can archive everything
under 4.7GB, then I'd use the Project Manager to collect all the files to a
single location, and then burn the files to DVD-ROM. (Not as a DVD movie, but
as a DVD-ROM data disc. Of course, the lifespan of your disk may not be
satisfactory if it needs to be around for more than a handful of years.)

Conversely, you could use an external USB or FireWire drive if you have a
larger project. Again, use the Project Manager.

If you don't have an external drive, and if the resulting files are too large
to fit on a DVD-ROM, then I would try making an offline project with the
Project Manager, and copying only the project file and the non-DV assets (stuff
that can't be recaptured, such as audio, graphics, etc.) This can usually fit
on a single CD, or tiny USB flash drive. Then, on the other computer, you'll
have to batch capture all of the DV files.

Bonus Tip: If you are using a version of Premiere with a 3rd party
product--like Matrox/Pinnacle/Canopus--then its important that both systems
share the same "codec" or you won't be able to play captured files from one
system on the other.

Subject: [AP] Best way to export project

  Hi,

what do you think is the best way to transfert a complete project with all
it's AVI Waves and other types of files (all links and so on) onto another
computer (basically migrate a whole project) so as to be able to continue
working on the movie from that second computer. Thank You!
