The easy answer is to get a conversion program, such as Canopus
ProCoder 2. I use that all the time to "rip" DVDs. The other option is
a little more roundabout. Open the DVD in My Computer, copy the VOB
files onto your hard drive, then change the extension on the files to
MPG. Then, to change them to AVI files, you can import them into
Premiere Pro, put them on the timeline, and export them from Premiere
Pro as AVI files. Then, you can open a new project in Premiere Pro and
import the new AVI files and do your editing on those files.

Good luck,
Glen in Vegas
