Hi Jeffrey Thomas Harris,

When you want to export a movie with an alpha channel, you have to do two
things:

1.) Choose a codec that allows an alpha channel. (Alas, the "DV" codec does
not!)
2.) Choose a color depth of "Millions of colors+". (This is also written as
"Millions+ colors" -- the + means alpha channel.)

My personal favorite format/codec for preserving an alpha channel is Quicktime
with animation preset (the compression is particularly good for animations and
other computer generated images.) However, Quicktime PNG movie also compresses
nicely with photos and video. (I don't recall if 6.5 came with a PNG option or
not, so go with the Animation codec.)

  Subject: [AP] preserve alpha channel

I am using Adobe Premiere 6.5 and am trying to export an alpha
transparency video clip to use later. According to the help files, this
can be done by selecting "Preserve Transparency". I have looked
everywhere and cannot find this option. Anyone know about this?
