Hi Jon, not a dumb question at all. It's time for you to venture into the next level of editing with "nested sequences." You can create a new sequence (File > New > Sequence, I believe) and then drop the existing sequence into the new one, as if you were dragging a regular clip into the timeline. Sequence A will become a clip in Sequence B. Even though sequence A may be made up of dozens of individual clips, when nested in sequence B, it shows up as one long clip.
There's another way to accomplish your task, and that's to paste the effect onto multiple clips if you have many selected at one time. However, the nested sequence method is easier because it requires only one effect to be pasted. Much easier when you need to tweak the effect. If I have a project that is 10 minutes long, how do I use the Magic Bullet video effect across the entire timeline? I seem to only be able to get it to work on on piece of video at a time. Sorry for such a dumb question. Cheers, Jon [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] Yahoo!
