hi jeff,

  we're opposite.
my energy in the editing room is far from my energy within the shoot.
but my team needs me to be with them for my assistance since we're in
multi-tasking mode, but then my excitement and ideas are always in the editing-
doing the effects, transitions, drama and all. so i find someone who can
replace me during the shoot and me concentrating and exploring more on editing.
if you can only find someone there who can edit for you so that you can do more
on your passion with the shoot and explore more on it. but the greatest
advantage on your part is, when you shoot the footage you can have the idea
right away on how to edit and run the video. just a thought anyway :)

  regards,
  apple

I have been shooting weddings for several years now and have come to
the realization that I enjoy shooting the video much more than
editing and doing the final production. I also feel that I'm better
with the cameras than the computer and editing software. Does
anyone on here know if it's feasible to contract out the editing
portion of a wedding video production? Has anyone on here tried
that or I guess better yet, would anyone be interested in something
like that? I think I would like to continue doing weddings but I
would like to shoot the footage, come back to my office and
overnight the tapes to someone who enjoys editing more than I do and
who hopefully could do a better job than I do.

It's just an option that I'm exploring at this point. I haven't
been shooting but about 6 or 8 weddings a year but feel that I could
increase that number to 15 or 20 if I had help with the editing.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Maybe someone on here
has tried it and found that it doesn't work or maybe, just maybe it
might be the answer to my problem.

Thanks,

Jeff
