I'd start with a change of firewire cable and hope that's the problem.
Having just paid three hundred bucks for a new firewire port on my Sony
VX2000 I'd have rather bought a new cable.

I don't know what MPEG2 encoder you're using but I think both the Main
Concept and Procoder Express allow demuxed files to be created, meaning you
get a video and a separate audio file, with the same names. Whatever the
video file is called you might look for one named identically, but with the
.wav extension.

Help!
Premiere 6.5
Have lost contact with Sony DV Deck DHR-1000NP.
Premiere appears to be working OK, however not playing back to deck so
it can be seen and heard on the monitor.

Receive message "The DV Device Is Unavailable For Device Control".

Have re-nstalled Premeire 6.5 to no avail.

Can anyone assist?
Thanks all.

PS Also when I export an MPEG2 file of the timeline, it exports without
audio. Any ideas on that one?
