I hope this isn't too far off-topic. If so, I beg your pardon. Cheers,
Edward -=-=-=-=-=-=- "Flesh of my Flesh", a low-budget action movie based out of Portland, Oregon, is looking for people who want to beef up their resumes and reels with short bits of computer animation/mattes/3D work, rotoscoping, and compositing. "Flesh of my Flesh" is the second feature by Guerrilla Productions, the first of which was the animated adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft's "The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath". FOMF is, however, live action. Or perhaps almost-live action, as it features everybody's favorite flesh-eaters, zombies. More precisely, OUR take on zombies, which is considerably different than anything else we've ever seen, and we do try to break the mold on every project. (darn molds) "Flesh of my Flesh" has been designed to use minimal CG (we did as much as possible as practical effects), and pieces are typically short (3 seconds or less). Some are ordinary things (such as rotoscope out a microphone shadow) and others "hero shots", as challenging as building complicated 3D environments with compositing of complex footage loops. We definitely are willing to start you with whatever skill level you like, and you can progress in complexity as much as you feel comfortable. We're fine with practically any tool you prefer using, from Photoshop to After Effects, Maya, or whatever. Our main timeline is Premiere, so as long as you can produce files Premiere can read (such as AVI files or Targa frames), we can work together. As far as time commitment, we're somewhat flexible on time, as the work is being distributed to many different people, so you can take your time and do a bang-up job. Some people kick back assignments in a day or two, some take a few weeks. As long as they come back, we're happy. You'll be working directly with the Director on this project (that would be me), and as far as I can tell, I'm usually pretty easy to please As much as we would love to offer cash, alas, as with most low-budget projects, we spent all our money on food and generators, and everything else is volunteering by kind-hearted folks in their evenings and weekends. We offer screen credit, credit on the website, and we'll make sure your info gets submitted to the IMDB. You'll also receive a copy of the commercial version of the movie when it's finished. No DVD-R for you! And, of course, we encourage you to use your clips as part of your reel or resume (if you would be so kind as to refernce us, that would be swell). If you want to check out Guerrilla Productions, by all means, please do so. You can find us at http://www.guerrilla-productions.org/ Also, check out the website for "Flesh of my Flesh", of course, at http://www.FleshOfMyFlesh.com/ We maintain the Production Diary pretty regularly, and you can peruse the photo album, news, and other things. All work is done through e-mail or via FTP or http downloads, so you don't have to be present to win! We're working with people from all over the world, and we're loving it! What else can I tell you? We've been working on this project for a few years, and it j-u-s-t now finally came out of the final video cut stage, so we are definitely on the downhill slope of post-production. Music is happening, sound design is happening, ADR is being recorded, and CG is coming together. Now is the most excellent time to hop on and have a fun time doing what we've been doing for years -- making a movie! And yes, before you even ask, it is TOTALLY okay to pass this on to other folks you might know who do this sort of thing. The more the merrier! Please do! Hope you can join us!
