Hi again.

This is not wholly Adobe Premiere related, but I think it's
appropriate here.

I have a Sony DCR SR70e camcorder (60Gb HDD) and I'm in the habit of
taking relatively long clips, which the camera chops into 2Gb chunks,
which can be played back seamlessly on the camera. The problem is,
when the files are exported via USB2 to a PC as MPGs and subsequently
loaded into PP2, there are 9 frames missing, so the files can't be
rejoined seamlessly. So far for each pair of files, the leading file
has 1 frame missing from it's trailing end and the trailing file has
8 frames missing from its leading end.

I have found a work-around by combining the files first in VideoReDo
and then importing to PP2.

I suspect that ony have their transfer algorithm wrong, but
persuading them to admit it could be difficult and getting new
software almost impossible! :-(

Has anyone else come across this phenomenon?

Regards,

Alan.
