Hi!

Is it possible to have Adobe Premiere sync to MTC or SMPTE?

I ask because I edit movies in Premiere, but do a
lot of sound to movies in Pro Tools. This is my
main job actually. My Premiere work is more semi-pro.
When working in Pro Tools, I would like to have
Pro Tools be the MTC/SMPTE timecode master, and
remote control any prog on another PC that holds
the DV-file and plays this back through a DV-camcorder.

Progs I have tried:

Sonar: Uses several seconds to get the movie
started out the firewire. Super when movie is
only played back on computer screen.
Vegas: Too unstable, very poor picture quality. Lousy actually.

Any other prog I should try?

Premiere is the prog I have that gives best
picture quality on TV using DV out firewire, but
I cant find any MTC / SMPTE features?

I want to use Premiere, or some other program to
playback DV on firewire, because Pro Tools on PC
cannot play DV out firewire. (Even though I
baught the latest upgrade to Pro Tools HD,
because it said it would then be able to playback
DV out firewire...turned out that on PC this will
be OK as long as you buy some Avid hardware for
about 2000 dollars also...). With Pro Tools on
Mac all would be well, but I don“t want to work
on Mac in Pro Tools since I am rather fast on PC
and know a lot of progs, on Mac I was helpless
for a year, and it also made me broke.

Now, I am thinking about buying a small mac and a
Mbox, just to have movie out firewire there, but
it seems this is a bit drastic?

The best thing to find would be a small proggy
that could take MTC/SMPTE and play a DV-movie out through firewire...anyone?
If possible, it should also follow srub and
shuttle "jumping about" that I do in Pro Tools.

Thanx for any help,

Best regards,

Paal
