I use Ulead DVD Workshop 2. It's much easier to use than Encore.

  I think the "pay me now or later makes sense".. I'm not sure how to
  turn out a real DVD, however.. any quick and dirty clues? after I "get"
  the first one, I'm usually able to proceed along quickly enuff.
