Find the Uninstall icon on the start menu for Elements
1.0, right click it then left click Run as
Administrator and see if that works.

If that doesn't work, complain to Microsoft. If
there's no uninstall icon for it in the start menu,
complain to Adobe. ;)

IMHO, the worst thing Microsoft did to Vista was
making the Administrator account essentially the same
as a regular User account. The Administrator login
should be able to do *anything* without having to jump
through hoops or ask "Mr. Gates may I?". That's the
reason why that account exists, to be "all powerful",
no restrictions, so when things go worng they can be
fixed! (Imagine if the root login in Linux was so
stupidly restricted...)
