Season greetings to everyone! Been on this group for years, had received and read a lot of great information that helped me. At this time, want to wish you all a great holiday season and stay out of 'bad' troubles. :)
Just a quick update, my current feature The Rapture (a sci-fi action film), which is edited entirely with Premiere Pro 2.0 and added 500+ cg work from 3dMax and composed within After Effects 7.0 is now doing the festival route. First it is going to Radcon Sci-Fi/Fantasy convention in WA, and then premiering here in Cleveland on May 10 as part of a fundraising effort for a nonprofit film festival. The film also managed to get some distribution interest. Now I'm doing a test with the footage, it was finalized in dvcpro50 codec, a bit better than dv25 codec, and since the movie is a comic book styled, I'm doing some upresing using Red Giant Software's InstantHD plub in AE (not recommended for the whole feature length projects, but hey, I got nothing to lose to try). I did a 45 sec test and the result of upressing 720x480 image to 1920x1440 is really nice, other than the obvious pixilation that you already 'can' see in the 720x480, the overall image is still hold strong... But, instead of some hundred of megabytes, it took 6gig of file size (for a 45 sec test). Overall, I'm quite happy with the upres quality but I ain't hold my breath yet until doing more test. I'll keep you guys posted, for the meantime, if you haven't check out the trailer that was post a while back, take a peak at www.rapturethemovie.com (right on main page). (previous trailers had already won some awards). Johnny Wu http://www.mdifilm.com http://www.rapturethemovie.com Yahoo!
