If you're going to spend the money, go to CS3. Don't
bother with buying CS2- even if you do find an unused
secondhand copy for cheap. The installer is buggy and
Adobe never bothered to recall it or release a fix (or
any updates- according to what's on their downloads
page). Adobe's even removed the information on
workarounds for the CS2 installer bug from their
website. Just another one of those "How the BLEEP did
this horrible BUG get past testing?!" things.
