It's not necessary. Rendering allows you to preview the output. Also, after
rendering, if your output is the same format as the timeline format, the
rendered portion will be "copied" to the exported AVI thus speed up the final
render export time.

Subject: [AP] To render or not to render?

Hi all,

In PP2, is it necessary to render the timeline before you export it to
either an AVI or burn it to a disk? In other words, will rendering
have any effect on the final product?

I was taught to always render but lately have been told that it is not
necessary. Which is it? Please help me understand.

Thanks,

Len
