You might not have to. You say the client is not "Blu-Ray ready" so I take
that to mean you will actually put the concert on a DVD for them. If so, you
don't need to down-convert to SD 4:3, just use Encore to write it to a DVD
in 16:9 - and note that just about any DVD player will play 16:9. I tend to
use File > Export > Adobe Media Encoder in CS3 which makes 2 files for each
timeline, and then import all of those pairs into Encore.

Subject: [AP] How to "down convert" ?

Hi!

I did shoot a concert yesterday in HD with my SONY HDR-FX7.

The client is not HD/BLU-RAY ready yet, so I have to down convert all
the video to SD quality. (I did shoot in HD to give him the tape for
his future reference/backup).

How to down convert ? Do I simply bring everything to APP CS3 and
export thru FILE - EXPORT - MOVIE or I still use the FILE - EXPORT -
ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER ?

Thank you for your guidance!

PS : I tried to convert it while capturing it from my FX7 using the
convert function (from the FX7), but I didn't have any success to it
(it captured only 22 minutes out of 60)

Bye!

Jean
