Well, I had similar issue with the ps3 so I'll try on my regular blu-ray player later, here's one guy's comment on dvinfo.net, "You can burn bluray media to a standard DVD that will play on a bluray player in DVD Architect. Just set the project properties to bluray and change the size of the disc. I've been doing this for a while, waiting for the price of bluray burners and media to come down.
The only caveat to this was that I have a Playstation 3. A bluray disc on standard or dual-layer DVD media, I guess this is called an AVCHD disc, will play on a PS3 as a data disc. You lose the menu & navigation. There is a workflow to get this type of disc to work with menus & navigation on a PS3 though. Let me know if you need it." So, basically it will not work on ps3 Johnny Wu 216.539.4634 Producer/Director/Editor/Wire-Stunt www.mdifilm.com www.rapturethemovie.com www.thegummingzombie.com More reels at www.vimeo.com/mdifilm President OCA-Cleveland Chapter "Embracing the Hopes and Aspirations of Asian Pacific Americans" OCA Image TV Magazine on TV20 & iTunes www.ocagc.org Co-Chair Executive Committee Cleveland Asian Festival www.ClevelandAsianFestival.org Administrator Cleveland IndieClub www.indieclub.com www.clevelandindieclub.com -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mike Boom Sent: Monday, August 30, 2010 2:16 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [AP] Burning Blu-Ray on DVD At 06:44 PM 8/23/2010, Johnny Wu wrote: >Mike, I was reading your question and decided to do a quick search, found >this: >http://www.videomaker.com/community/forums/topic/put-high-definition-video- onto-dvd-to-play-in-blu-ray-player >a few down there's an explanation how to >do it... Johnny, you were going to try this out last week. Any success? I followed the instructions and ended up with a DVD that my PlayStation 3 interprets as a data disc, not a BluRay disc. I used Encore to create the Blu-Ray ISO image, then DVDDecrypter to write the ISO image to the DVD. There must be a piece missing. I'm not sure where the problem lies, but am still looking for a good solution. I'm surprised there's not a single piece of software to do this, since I'd think creating short Blu-Ray discs out of cheap DVDs would be a popular option. ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
