Turns out that I'm brain-dead myself. I already asked this question
here a couple of years ago, and we batted it around a bit. We never
did come up with an answer, though, so if anyone's figured out how to
avoid re-indexing on a portable drive that moves from computer to
computer, I'd love to hear the answer.
It's possible, after re-reading the old thread, that I can copy .mcdb
files from the first computer to the second and point Premiere that
way to the existing index and conform files. It'll be an interesting
experiment.
Thanks,
Mike Boom
